Cliffside Park is located on the top of the palisades in southeast Bergen County. It is a highly diverse town and offers a plethora of housing options. From high rises with luxury amenities, large homes, to affordable one family homes. It also has a strong rental market due to it's close proximity to New York City. Anderson avenue, the town's main thoroughfare has a bustling local business population complete with unique cafes, restaurants, and other services.
Fairview, a town in the middle of it all. It borders North Bergen to the south and west, and Cliffside Park to the North and east. It also offers a quick commute to New York, and affordable housing. Fairview has a diverse population now revitalizing the local business district. It is also near the Hudson park which offers a place to relax.
Edgewater, up until recently was highly undeveloped with only a few small one family homes. However, massive commercial and residential development has lead to high rises, and large scale department stores. This has made Edgewater one of the fastest growing towns in the state, perhaps even the region. It offers quick access in to New York, especially since it is adjacent to the Hudson River. To the north is Fort Lee, and the South is Weehawken and North Bergen. If you desire to live in New York, but would like a bargain compared to New York City prices, Edgewater is a good substitute. Ferry service to Manhattan has been announced and a terminal has been built at the base of Route 5.
Fort lee contains the gateway to Upper Manhattan via the George Washington Bridge, this diverse town has a healthy local business district, historic parks, and many types of homes to live in. The town has several high rises, large homes, and affordable homes. Fort Lee is also good for commuters for both into New York and those who need access to Route 4, 46, 80, and I-95. Fort Lee has its own historic park where George Washington once marched through. It also has several banks and restaurants.
Ridgefield offers a excellent combination of small town living with easy access to transportation options. It offers a very wooded type of living with many trees throughout the town and excellent parks. A few condo complexes exist in town, yet mostly one and two family homes are available. Low taxes have helped Ridgefield become a favorite for homeowners, and it has easy access to just about every major highway in Northern NJ, as well as easy access to New York City. Ridgefield has a active business community as well, with both small and large businesses in the town.
Ridgefield Park, known as the "village" is just that. It is a small town, that maintains a village feel to it. Many of the homes are over one hundred years old and maintained well. The town offers affordable homes with easy access to New York and New Jersey transportation. The local businesses are unique and offer an array of dining and shopping options. Few towns take as much as pride in community like Ridgefield Park does. Ridgefield Park has one of the oldest Independence Day parades in the country.
